The most proliferate bitch. She welped a total of 28 puppies out of 4 litters.

The first written records of Scottish terriers in Serbia date from the 1930s when Prince Tomislav Karadjordjevic was given a puppy called Tobias by the British Queen.
In the 1950s, there were only a couple of Scotties in Belgrade, but serious breeding started much later.
In 1979 Dr. Josip Skavic from Zagreb founded the first official kennels: Melscot. Dr. Skavic imported YU CH Reanda Ebony Rock ( UK Ch.Gaywyn Landmark / Reanda Rosally )and Reanda Reveller, trace of UK Ch.Swiss Rannoch Solo and UK Ch. Glenecker Jeremy Whu, Gaywyn Anne-Marie ( UK Ch. Mayson Monopoly / Gaywyn Angela ), Gaywyn Nadia ( Lumberjack of Gaywyn / Tamantha Ness of Gaywyn ) and YU CH Gaywyn Ambassador ( Kennelgarth Beau Brummel / UK Ch. Gaywyn Arianna ), YU CH Rannoch Hallmark ( Rannoch Newton / Ch.Rannoch High Hope ), while family Bedenikovic imported Glenecker Gerry – thus setting the strong foundations for the start of Scottie breeeding in the then Yugoslavia.

However, Dr. Skavic’s most famous import was stud dog Yug. CH Rannoch Hallmark, bred by Mrs. Elsbeth Clerc of Switzerland. Dr. Skavic used UK CH Swiss Rannoch Solo and UK CH Law Lord of Scarista for stud. These dogs and most of their progeny lived in the territory of the former Yugoslavia until its disintegration in the early 1990s.
Apart from his excellent imports, Dr. Skavic was very successful with 68 litters and the most prominent of these were: YU CH Melscot Barkarola Becky, INT YU CH Melscot Tip Top (Young World Vice CH) owned by Sanja Buva, World 1990 INT YU CH Melscot Ares Khir, YU CH Melscot Ursa, YU CH Melscot Una, YU CH Zena Melscot, owned by Claudio Persic, YU CH Mej Melscot, INT YU CH Melscot Titania Thora, YU CH Melscot Reed, YU CH Lester Lionel Melscot, EUR INT CH Melscot Alfred, etc. One should also mention family Bedenikovic and her Hilscott kennels which were completely based on Melscot stock, Sergio Radovic from Labin, close to Pula in Istria, who had Dr Skavic’s bitches and imported the dog INT CH Gentleman della Meridiana from Miss Vittoria Alessio of the Della Meridiana kennels in Italy. The most prominent from this combination was the dog YU CH Amigo Queen’s Star, owned by the Invisible Touch kennels.
Sergio had the help of Claudio Persic from Nedescina, also near Pula in Istria, who owned two well-bred bitches: Amarilda and Bonita Queen’s Star. Claudio used YU CH Rannoch Hallmark for stud and the most famous from this combination was the YU CH Rosemary of Invisible Touch who was the founding bitch of the kennels of the author of this text.
The late 1980s and early 1990s marked the appearance of the Yes and Invisible Touch kennels and this was the turning point of Scottie breeding in Serbia.
Djura Gladic (Yes) based his breeding on Italian import INT YU CH Gentleman Della Meridiana, bred by Serdjo Radovic from Labin, the Queen’s Star scotties and bitches YU CH Reed Melscot and INT YU CH Melscot Titania Thora, both bred by Dr Skavic.
Goran Gladic (Invisible Touch) started in 1990 with YU CH Rosemary of Invislble Touch as his foundation bitch. This was a daughter of YU CH Rannoch Hallmark owned by Claudio Persic, who was best friends and partners with Serdjo Radovic within the Queen’s Star Kennels. Goran Gladic’s first stud dog was YU CH Amigo Queen’s Star, bred by Sergio Radovic. Between them, relatives Djura and Goran, were very successful with their Scottish terriers in the showring and breeding.

It is interesting that Dark Water of Invisible Touch went as far as the Dominican Republic, thus spreading the fame of Scottish terriers in this distant part of the world. Apart from the high quality of his selective breeding, the author of this text, Goran Gladic, is a prominent judge for the IIIrd FCI group (all terrier breeds), specializing in Scottish terriers. He has been the president of the Scottish Terrier Club of Serbia since its foundation in 2001, is the president of the Borad of Directors of the Serbian Cynologic Association, president of the Sirmium Cynologic Association, author of many texts on Scotties in numerous magazines throughot Europe, member of the STBEA and STCE in Great Britain.

SCG Ch.Lavender Bloom by Mrs.Milica Boskovic Mrs. Milica Boskovic is another serious Scottie breeder in this country. She began breeding in the late 1990s, and after travlling to Britain and becoming friends with Muriel Owen (Gaywyn), she imported the very well bred bitch Camdram Hot Gossip of Gaywyn, personally chosen for her by Mrs Owen. Out of this bitch, Milica retained a daughter; YU CH Lavander Bloom who was in turn mated to YU CH Stanley of the Tam O’Shanter Land, resulting in KfT Jgd CH Ger Ch Lancelot the Noble. Milica is also a member of the STBEA and SCTE of Great Britain, and years long secretary and treasurer of the Scottish Terrier Club of Serbia. She is the author a series of texts and translations about Scottish terriers in prominent magazines.
Apart from these prominent Scottie breeders, it is necessary to mention some other Scottie owners despite the fact that many of them no longer have this lovely breed. This refers only to owners living in the territoy of present-day Serbia:
YU CH Lester Lionel Melscot, owned by Radisa Nesic, was very successful in the showring in the late 1980s and early 1990s. this dog was sired by the sole domestic World CH from the 1990s Melscot Ares Khir, bred by Dr. Skavic, YU CH Dark Desert, owned by Mrs.Jasna Dragovic and sired by YU CH Gaywyn Ambassador, litter brother to UK CH Gaywyn Admiral, Desert’s most famous daughter was YU CH Yes Ginger, YU CH King Richard, owned by Miss Maja Vasiljevic was sired by INT CH Yes Zlatin Zappa, Serbia CH Emperor of Invisible Touch owned by Mrs.Irena Markovic, YU CH Amanda of Invisible touch owned by Mr.Aleksandar Jovanovic and many, many others.
The Scottish terrier Club of Serbia was founded in 2001 as the Scottish Terrier Club of Yugoslavia, then Serbia and Montenegro and finally today Scottish Terrier Club of Serbia. Initially it had some 50 members including some of the most prominent world Scottie breeders. So far the Club has held only one Club Show under the auspices of Don and Carol Adams, USA (Verylike kennel) and at which the BOB received the Verylike Cup. In 2007 Club held theirs second speciality show with eminent judge for scotties Mr.Les Aspin from Great Britain.
At CACIB and CAC shows in this country, the number of Scottie enteries has always been about a dozen, with the number of registered Scotties ranging between 100 to 150, with no more than about five liters per year. Despite the difficult political situation, wars, disintegration of the country, bombs, sanctions … we have managed to breed Scottish terriers of the highest quality.
